Gaming giants Ubisoft announced that they will be operating a core channel node on Aleph.im’s network. Aleph.im is a cross-blockchain Layer 2 network, while Ubisoft is responsible for creating massively popular game franchises such as Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry.
UbiStrat Labs To Run On Aleph.im
Back in May, it was announced that Ubisoft had selected Aleph.im to be one of the startups to participate in the Ubisoft Entrepreneurs Lab. Furthermore, news also broke of Ubisoft running their core channel node UbiStrat Labs on Aleph.im. This will further validate and manage the Aleph.im network and increase its capacity to offer more decentralization services.
Didier Genevois, Blockchain Tech Director at Ubisoft, commented on the partnership, saying,
“We’re happy to be joining the Aleph.im ecosystem as Core Channel Node operator. At Ubisoft, we believe that Blockchain holds a key to the future of the videogame industry… the decentralized storage of their metadata appears to us as a determining factor in fulfilling the whole promise of true ownership. In this perspective, the exploration of the services offered by the Aleph.im decentralized network is particularly promising.”
A Vision Of Global Decentralization
Despite claiming to be decentralized, many dApps and protocol infrastructures consist of partially centralized components. Aleph.im provides fully decentralized database computation and a decentralized identification (DID) framework to help apps and protocols eliminate the centralized parts of their stack.
As a distributed cloud platform providing completely decentralized solutions to its users, Aleph.im is set to challenge centralized cloud computing. Its scalable peer-to-peer network and programming language-agnostic interface ensures that dApps of any chain can get instant access to decentralized solutions. The purpose of the core channel nodes is to power the Aleph.im network.
Speaking on their decentralization services, Aleph.im Founder & CEO, Jonathan Schemoul, said,
“Our primary mission is to make decentralized cloud services a reality. It is really encouraging to have such a successful business getting behind our vision of creating the next generation of cloud services that will be open-source, unstoppable, and trustless.”
Program To Empower Blockchain Startups
The 6th season of the Entrepreneurs Lab program, which is led by Ubisoft Strategic Innovation Lab will be providing 11 startups the unique opportunity to collaborate with blockchain innovators and experts to drive the future of entertainment.
The purpose of this program is to understand innovative technologies and to channel them to explore future possibilities. As one of the startups chosen to participate in the program, Aleph.im will be able to work on their vision of complete decentralization.
Virginie Haas, Chief Studios Operating Officer at Ubisoft and sponsor of the 6th season, commented on the program, saying,
“We are very proud to be welcoming all of these talented startups for the 6th season of the Ubisoft Entrepreneurs Lab. This year’s program will be a fantastic opportunity to work with highly innovative startups on topics that matter, now more than ever.”
